My 40th birthday!

Yes it's true, as of 20 June I am 40! Feel as young as ever though :o) I don't think I have had time to have a mid-life crises yet. Too busy being a mum at the moment, I'll let you know when it hits me...

I had a lovely birthday. Glenn had gathered some friends for an afternoon tea party in my parents garden. Very relaxing. Great company, beautiful weather and of corse lots of yummy cakes.

I would never have thought that popcorne hidden in a tree would be such a thrill for kids. They where so excited over finding the treasure after following the secret map they found in the garden that they sat still like angels on the blanket sharing the treasure amongs them (without fighting). Mind you, it was 15 children between the age of 1-4!

A big congrats to Glenn as well that the day before made his last leg of the Swedish Classics. Happy, but I think a bit tired he arrived the night before my big day.

So this is it

I started a blog.

Finally one might say, and yes I feel a bit quilty for not writing, calling, sending photos, you name it... to all of you. But here we go!

Sofia, Gabriel's little baby sister, was born February 10th, 2010. A sunny beautiful soul. That is all she does really, smile! Sleeping is a little more difficult, but hey, she is our daugther after all and Gabriel has never been a good sleeper either. You might miss something!:o)

Gabriel has been lovely towards Sofia and absolutely adores his little sister. However, becoming a big brother has been very difficult for him. To have had mum and dad to himself for three years and now all of a sudden share them has not been easy. I know it is normal, but everyone tells me his reaction has been very strong and unuiqe that he has been able to put words on how he feels.

Gabriel normaly goes to daycare (which most kids do here in Sweden from the age of 1), but ever since Sofia arrived they have both been home with me. Most times it is great and I feel how important it is for Gabriel to know what Sofia and I are doing all day. Questions like; Is Sofia here to stay? Will you leave and forget about me now? Do you still love me? has poped up and still pop up. However the more time we get as a "new" family, the easier it gets for him. So we spend our day taking care of the baby, making creative things, baking, drawing, taking the baby for walkes (Gabriel cykles next to me), visiting friends, and spending time at mormor and morfar (my mum and dad). They have been wonderful and we are so lucky to have them so close. Gabriel adores them and love speding time out there in the forest.

Glenn is preparing for the last leg of his "Swedish Classics" which is a Road Bike Race (300km). He has already done the River Swim (30km), Cross Country Run (30km), Cross Country Ski (90km). So in 2 weeks time he will finally have the diploma up on the wall! This together with a new born baby and a very intense period at work, has keepted him very busy. We are all looking forward to our summer holidays!

Keep well until next time!
